Ways of Grouping People.
NRS Way
The NRS (National Leadership Survey) Survey the Chief Income Earner of a household. Basically the person who makes the person who earns the most money in that household. They see the family as a single consuming unit without generational or life-stage distinctions and conflicts therefore basing the family by the answers of the person who has been questioned.
The ways the people are grouped, are in a social hierarchy table, the table follows.
| Grade | Social Status | CIE’s Occupation |
| A | Upper Middle Class | Higher Managerial, Administrative or Professional |
| B | Middle Class | Intermediate managerial, administrative or professional |
| C1 | Lower Middle Class | Supervisory or clerical and Juniors managerial, Administrative or professional |
| C2 | Skilled Working Class | Skilled Manual Workers |
| D | Working Class | Semi and Unskilled Manual Workers |
| E | Those at the lowest levels of subsistence | State Pensioners or widows (no other earners), casual or lowest grade workers |
I think that this way of grouping people is gives incorrect answers as it is only based on the Highest member of the family, not everybody views is the same as the highest member of the families. For example, the father is the highest earning member, think, does the son and mother have the exact same interests as the father? In some cases, possibly but in most cases not really. This is why the way of grouping people is unfair and incorrect, as not everybody will have the same interests as each other.
ABC Way
The ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulation) works in a very similar way to the NRS.
